Norwegian Rosemåling

In 2022 I visited the Vesterheim Museum in Decorah, Iowa, and was amazed to discover the wedding trunk of my 3rd-great grandmother in their permanent collection. It came to America as an immigrant chest, carried by my great-great grandfather and his sister Marit, whose name was repainted over her mother's prior to the voyage.
